  • "AITA for exposing my SIL and embarrassing her?"

  • 1 (28F) got married earlier this year. Cute garden wedding, simple, nothing extravagant. But the pictures came out chef's kiss soft - lighting, sunset glow, all that romantic stuff.
  • Enter my husband's sister, Anna (31F). Anna is... how do I put this nicely... a competitive Disney villain trapped in a Pinterest board.
  • If I breathe, she breathes louder. If I get a haircut, she shows up with the same haircut and says she "just felt inspired." Anyway.
  • One random Tuesday night, I'm scrolling Facebook half-asleep when suddenly I see Anna post: "He finally asked... Feeling blessed." Attached were MY ACTUAL WEDDING PHOTOS.
  • As in: My arch My bouquet My veil MY BRIDAL POSE The ONLY difference? She cropped out my husband and put a blurry filter over my face... but STILL CLEARLY ME.
  • She also tagged her boyfriend... who, I later found out, was ASLEEP during this and had absolutely no idea she made an "engagement announcement." The comments were wild: "OMG congratulations!!" "When's the wedding?" "You look stunning!!" And Anna was replying like: "Thank you everyone!
  • Dreams do come true" Ma'am... whose dreams? Because these are MY PHOTOS. I messaged her privately like a normal human being: "Uh... Anna, those are my wedding photos.
  • You need to take that down." She leaves me on seen. No reply. No update. No deletion.
  • - Okay. Fine. You want chaos? Let's go. A few hours later, my cousin comments on her post: "Girl... is this not literally Lorena's wedding?" And I stupid, sleepy, tired, petty - replied: "I would like to formally announce that I did NOT get married to Anna's boyfriend.” The entire comment section exploded like a telenovela finale.
  • People were tagging each other like: "WAIT WHAT???" "IS THIS A JOKE??" "WHO IS LYING??" Then the boyfriend woke up, saw he was suddenly "engaged," and commented: "???
  • What is happening?? I DID NOT PROPOSE TO ANYONE." Anna tried to play it off like: "Oh nooo this is just a manifestation post " (Girl.
  • You said HE FINALLY ASKED?) Her boyfriend was pissed. My MIL was pissed. My husband was in the corner like a sim whose house is on fire.
  • THEN - because Anna apparently likes world war- level drama - she BLOCKED ME. Yes. She blocked me.

  • For "ruining her moment." Her mom messaged me saying I "embarrassed" Anna and I should've let her "have her fantasy." Ma'am your daughter an fake-announced engagement using my wedding photos.
  • This is not a harmless scrapbook activity. The best part? Anna had to post a follow-up status saying: "Just to clarify: I am NOT engaged.
  • Please stop messaging me." People thought she got dumped. People thought I stole her photographer. People thought she was delusional.
  • Honestly? All three are correct in different ways. To this day she still refuses to follow me again, and she now only posts wedding inspo photos from Pinterest... though she still picks ones that look suspiciously similar to mine.
  • Charlotte, if you'll be able yo read this in the future, please live long a healthy life.
  • We need you! We love you here and mike!.... UPDATE. I'm schocked with the comments and how fast it blown out.
  • Thanks for the messages, nice comments and support. I was so busy with work and my battle with hyperacidity.
  • I think I should stop the coffee addiction. I will answer a few questions made in the comments.
  • First, I didn't use Al. I use grammarly to correct my grammar bec English is not my first language.
  • Second. My dress in the pictures would pass as an engagement photos because of the simplicity of the dress I was wearing.
  • Third, my husband refused to be entangled into a witch to witch battle. He says if it gets physical he will be there for me to chop her into 15 small pieces(he's kidding ofc) Fourth, I was asked how was the situation after that?
  • It was calm but an awkward Aftermath After the whole fake-engagement announcement, our family didn't explode - but the atmosphere definitely changed.
  • Her boyfriend is still with her despite the craziness. It wasn't dramatic. It wasn't loud. It was the kind of tension you feel when everyone knows something embarrassing happened, and everyone is trying very hard to pretend they don't remember.
  • Anna never unblocked me. She never apologized. She never addressed what happened. She just acted like nothing ever occurred.
  • But the family started walking on eggshells around her. My MIL took Anna's side by default.

  • My husband tried to stay neutral. I decided to simply ignore the drama and move on with my life.
  • But the awkwardness was always there — like an invisible wall during family gatherings. MIL claims Anna was just excited and not to judge her.
  • Family events still happen, but they feel different now. Anna avoids me completely. She arrives late, leaves early, and sits far from me at the table.
  • She posts vague quotes online like: Some people love to make you look like the bad guy.
  • Everyone knows who she's referring to. Her boyfriend still talks to my husband normally, but you can tell he's tired of the drama too.
  • My husband and I just focus on ourselves, enjoy our food, and go home. We don't engage.
  • We don't bring anything up. We're simply... detached. There's no huge blow- up. No screaming confrontation. Just quiet family tension that everyone pretends not to see - but absolutely feels.
  • I don't know If i can still give an update after this. For the unanswered questions.
  • Leave it to imagination. I didn't use grammarly this time, hehe. Thanks!
